Paul - something that the article pushed on the BBC fails to take in to account is the likely hood of the individuals who do listen to hiphop/rap attending these festivals. It's more than likely very low. IT also fails to truely delve in to the real economics. What would it cost to hire Muse over getting Justin Bieber to turn up? I suspect the cost of getting the likes of Drake/Bieber et al far outweighs the likely return on their fans turning up to a festival event?
