Creating XY plotters when I want a regular plotter #3

On the various menu drop downs, there seems to be only one item that actually creates a node of the appropriate type. The other menu items (e.g. the plotter) create a node of the wrong type.

The menus don't seem to capture the mouse motion properly either (the elements don't get highlighted on mouseover). It's possible this is a Qt regression, but more likely user error...
