Installing the Python support for Labjack is dead easy. It will take IT to install the required labjack libraries and custom udev rules. (The udev rules are used when you plug in a labjack and it is mapped to a specific communications port.) That support needs sysAdmin permissions to install and modify the necessary files.
Since the libraries must be installed on every workstation where you plan to run this code, let's start with one workstation so that you can develop & explore what can be done. What linux workstation do you want to work with first? Who is your sysAdmin contact for the workstation?

Thanks so much, we'd like to start developing this on schoenberg - Fred Carter is the contact for that workstation.
Fred when you have a minute in the next week or two could you install the labjack libraries that are required locally on schoenberg.cnm.aps.anl.gov?
Not certain anything was ever installed on /APSshare to satisfy this request. It was all handled by APS IT.
