Unless I am missing something it is missing a lot of information and looks more like notes for the presenter than a "self contained" tutorial. Not very helpful for beginners.

I agree. That's exactly what it is. Can you add some text that says this to the document? Maybe also rename it as aps101_notes.md or such? Also, we should pull this from the highlighted documents.
