As referenced by #45 it appears the pipeline could be failing when empty commits are added. This looks like it would be a Jenkins multibranch plugin issue. What we need is a way to reproduce this with a test repository and namespace.
This may be a 'not our problem' type of issue in which the best course of action is clearly explaining empty commits are not allowed.
