We of course need somewhere to store data for the system. If we want to use a traditional SQL solution I think that GORM is probably our most likely candidate for building this quickly. While I'm not convinced that a full RBDMS is necessary, it would certainly make it much easier to export data in bulk if we decide we want to do that in the future.

GORM won out and is in use on the mechgreg branch.
