Clean up code #142

[x] remove commented code that is no longer needed
[x] remove all deprecated methods
[x] remove unnecessary comments
[x] Add docstrings to all methods
[x] rename modules to follow lowercase standard
[x] rename all mentions of experimental_out to test_out
[ ] Test if everything still works as expected
