497 simulation results test roofs groundfloor fix #657

Brings some initial plotting and post processing functions and finishes the implementation of serialization. There is still a lot to do in terms of plotting, but this is a good first step.

We previously had some unfinished examples here. I moved them to the branch corresponding to #658. We can finish them in that branch.
