Everything that is not needed anymore should be removed. Anyway, we can always dig it back out from git.
If you want to keep some alternative/debug code around for now, that's fine. Just let me know when the unneeded stuff is out.
I'll add linter exceptions to the remaining ones and enable commented_code_linter for #27 once you are done.
