to speed up processing and reduce serverload files from "known" URLs should be cached locally by default. For a start:

https://opendata.dwd.de/weather/radar/radolan/
ftp://ftp-cdc.dwd.de/pub/CDC/grids_germany/daily/radolan

if the url does not have a -latest- in it
