Add support for more languages #2

Hi,

thank you for your work! I was wondering if I can ask for the support of other languages such as Italian. I'm asking this because when I import the game data into ScummVM it only shows English as available language.

Thank you!

Hi, Good idea, thank you I'll look into it

Hi,

you did a great job with these patches, thanks!

I agree with the request for a multilingual version, especially for us Italian fans.

I hope you will be able soon to give us this additional gift. I'll keep an eye on the project here on github, fingers crossed.

I actually just wanted to open a feature request for the same thing (in my case, I'm interested in the german files). Is this actually possible?

It should be very simple to extract other languages from the FSB audio file, however the *.00? files in the classic folder are only for english language, meaning you'd also have to replace text in these files, which may lead to some bugs.

Hi, small update about this, As said above, the game resources only contain the classic version in english. I have managed to extract the multilingual translations from localization/ClassicLoc.bin and inject the into the classic english files.

but there are still 3 issues:

Thanks for the reply! It's great to know you're still working on this.

Stuff like missing subtitles for signs shouldn't be an issue. Afaik, neither of the two games contain any too complex stuff in signs, and you can always just LOOK at something you don't understand to get a translation.

In general, the classic version included in both games should be identical to game versions released back in the 90s. So... would it make sense to compare the extracted translated strings with strings extracted from an actual 90s (f.e.) italian game version? Maybe you could provide some info on how we could extract ClassicLoc.bin ourselves?

please see this commit: https://github.com/BLooperZ/remonstered/commit/53f1a365ecb48bb9fdc1047d43648e44b7105aea Specifically, the function create_loc_map is entire parsing of ClassicLoc.bin

Just found this. Works like a charm. Thank you so much for your work!

I am also interested in the possibility of getting a german version. Glad/Hope you are still working on things. Keep it going
