The feature you requested is not hard to implement, but it's sort of weird for me to introduce a middle-mouse-to-close-window feature since it seems middle-mouse-to-close behavior only appears in multi-tab applications. Could you explain the use case?

I just want a replacement for FastStone MaxView. It hadn't been updated for 2 years, and it doesn't support some of the filetypes. Other than that, I think FastStone MaxView is THE most useful image viewer I've ever used. So, middle-mouse-to-close is just one of the features I needed. Thanks.
I downloaded a portable trial version copy of FastStone MaxView 3.3 and it seems it will try to switch to the fullscreen mode when MMB is clicked, and I didn't find any setting to let me set MMB to close the application, did I miss something? Thanks.
btw, for anyone who also needs this feature, please consider voting this issue with 👍 or by comment below so I could consider if I really need to add this feature :)

you need to use it to open a image, then it will work.

I did, but MMB clicking still won't close the window.
The action you marked in the red rectangle says to launch in Full Screen instead of closing the window, did you mean use MMB click to enter full screen?

Open a picture with MaxView, MMB clicking to full screen then close the window. Open agian, MMB clicking to see if it does what I said.
did you mean use MMB click to enter full screen? No. You can see the video I recorded.

That's weird. Maybe because I'm using a trial version that doesn't come with such a feature. Anyway thanks for showing the actual behavior. Please add click middle mouse button to close window.
