No race = no color/gray - you may need to look up which states are having these senate elections. I can also get these for you if you want
Every state that has a race only has one senator up for election, so red if they win, blue if they don't (you can construct basic sample data since I don't have any at the moment to simulate this)
NEBRASKA EXCEPTION: They have two races. Find a design way to implement this. Example could be blue if both democrats win, red if both republicans win with a star over the state and hover explanation, and if one wins one loses, some sort of striped color or purple, but I leave to your creativity!
Democrats begin with 28 senators and Republicans with 38, but this shouldn't affect map because this is more of a status bar thing
