Mai multe detalii? Distribuţie, versiune TV-Maxe, ce backend foloseşti, ce 
canale încerci să vizionezi, dacă ai sunet, etc...

Ubuntu 10.04.4,tv-maxe 0.0.6.4.--instalat din ppa-ul lui v3n3rix,player extern 
totem(am folosit  vlc,mplayer dar cu aceleasi rezultate)pe tvr cluj am aceste 
probleme,lipsa sunet.La folosire cu player intern(mplayer)incearca sa se 
conecteze dar se opreste din incercare dupa citeva secunde.Cu vlc, se inchide 
complet.Aceleasi probleme si in ubuntu 10.10

Missing video codecs.
Dute la"Unbuntu Software Center" si instaleaza "GStreamer".
Vezi ca sunt 4 codecuri diferite.
Este posibil sa ai nevoie doar de unul din ele...nu stiu care.
Eu le-am instalt pe toate 4.
