Stace ed 3 treats Rosa virginiana as 'Mill. (non Herrm.)', noting that true R. virginiana Herrm. is a synonym of R. spinosissima.

Should the authority of MapMate's R. virginiana Herrm. be changed to 'Mill. (non Herrm.)'?

Seems reasonable to me, even CTM (CTW 3rd ed) has R. virginiana Mill.
