The names of a very large number of Rosa hybrids needs changing to replace the old species names with the new ones. See BSBI News April 2017, p.46. For instance I have had to record R. arvensis x squarrosa found at SU5228 4966 on 7 Sep 2018 temporarily as R. x irregularis (which is inaccurate!). Similarly I had specimens of Rosa arvensis (f) x squarrosa (m) confirmed by Roger Maskew for SU5647 4887.
