3 weeks ago after since rebooting the pc, and relaunching the browser session, the extension tabs remained open when re-checking for extension updates. -- looking into it further, i see that the last update was on june 6th. i did have my browser running for multiple days, so what might've happened, was that rather than the extension tabs being closed from extension list update checking, the extension itself probably updated to the june 6th version from the june 2nd version i was using prior.
that said, the issue of the tabs being closed remains, however, at least now the cause has been likely narrowed down to being, when the extension itself updates. ( rather than when updates are checked for, as previously thought. ).
luckily i had another extension for retrieving previous browser sessions for just such an issue. -- the issue being, the alternate player for twitch tabs closing on extension update check.
