The 'files/icons' directory is missing in a local site

I spinned up the Backdrop4Good website locally with the help of Lando as described in https://github.com/Backdrop4Good/backdrop4good.org/blob/master/README.md. When I visit the site in my browser, I miss some images, for example the logo below the site name, i.e. the backdrop and a heart icon which is clearly visible on https://backdrop4good.org:

The HTML code for the locally missing image on https://backdrop4good.org is <img class="bd-plus-heart" src="/files/icons/logo-icons.png">. The problem: When I spinned up the site locally, I didn't get a files/icons directory, and so the icons are missing in my local site.

NB: While the mentioned directory is part of https://backdrop4good.org, it's not on https://github.com/Backdrop4Good/backdrop4good.org. Is this on purpose?
