You need to change "Autodetect device" to "No".
Possibly your modem is not detected as CDMA device and not found in the list of
known modems /usr/share/modem/modems.conf.

Also please read http://wl500g.info/showthread.php?t=19865&langid=3

The latest firmware that works normal with 3G CDMA modem Novatel U720 is 2710.
All newer cannot connect.

Please never "mix" the issues. r2710 is 2.4 based d-branch, while current issue
discuss 2.6 based rtn-branch.

Try r2857 with Novatel U720.
Also, if your modem is absent in the list of known modems
/usr/share/modem/modems.conf, please inform us about the correct record.

Modem type is not changed after reboot, it is always GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/HSPDA.
Please fix this bug, we can't use CDMA modems with firmware newer than 2710.

Seems to be rssdev10 simply has no free time for now.

Have you tried r2968?

We suppose that the described problem was conditioned by incorrectly selected
modem detection mode. Now all possibilities to ignoring this parameter were
eliminated.

It is still not fixed. CDMA modem cannot connect, after several time rebooting
sometimes it connects, but after disconnect, modem can't connect again. Why you
don't want to come back to previous modem detection? It works fine! r2710
connect and reconnect without any problems.
