I was struck recently by part of a Huffington Post article about how to prevent suicides that mentioned the work of a psychiatrist who found that sending people occasional physical letters in the mail could improve their mental state. I've long wanted to do some sort of project that involves sending physical mail, so I wanna try doing that. After people (hopefully) sign up, I'll send them a letter in the mail once a month for three months. The letters will check in on them or give them directions for a scavenger hunt to do in their town or assorted other delightful shit. Also: I will invest in cool stamps. Cool stamps are an important part of this entire enterprise.
Bylaw Questions
How is this project a bad idea?
Won't this just seem like junk mail? Who wants to get more paper in the mail? Why do you want to print a bunch of shit out, do you hate the earth? Isn't the internet supposed to bring us beyond the physical realm and into the 1010100010101?
If this project were a D&D Character, what alignment would it be and why?
Alignment (CHOOSE ONE): Neutral Good. It's not gonna solve climate change, it's just letters in the mail.
Where are the lulz?
Who sends letters in the mail anymore???? Such a boring and bad an idea it's good???? Why, etc.
How does this project make people thinking face emoji?
It's an invitation to return to print and the ~ physical realm ~ in a moment where a lot of people are exhausted by the internet. Mostly because of the unrelenting Nazis.
