Not sure if this is a possibility but similiar to what STRING does when "EnrichmentMap - show in pathway commons Functionality" is clicked bring up input panel that shows:
search term that is being used for pathway commons - with the ability of the user to modify it.
expression data, max and min values being sent.
and any other parameters that we can control in painter rest request.
