What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Do not uninstall the old version of connectbot
2. Try to upgrade by installing a new version
3. Phone says "upgrade failed" and you are toast now.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Expect an upgraded connectbot. What I get is a phone where you can not
uninstall connectbot (it's uninstalled during upgrade), and you can not
install any version, not even the old one.

Please provide any additional information below.

You can add this information to the "If you run into install problems"
section on the front page.

-----
This is an issue with the package manager in Android which seems to have a
bug. It keeps old records about connectbot even though it's not installed.
And you can not clean it in any way.

You can solve it on a rooted phone by:
1. Go into the terminal
2. su
3. edit the file data/system/packages.xml and remove the section for
connectbot.
4. Now the package manager is clean and you can install connectbot.
