libgmp and libmpfr are required to build gcc. If they are not present, then
there will be a vague warning during one of the configure steps, and
eventually cc, gcc and g++ will quietly *not* be built.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Ubuntu Linux 2.6.20-16-generic #2 SMP
Please provide any additional information below.
For Ubuntu/debian, this can be fixed by apt installing:
libgmp3-dev
libmpfr-dev
