Could you please log into SIP Sorcery, go to the Console, click Connect and try
to place a call? I'm expecting that the last line that shows up will show that
the call cannot be completed due to a 480 error, and several lines above that
you will see an error referring to not being able to find your "_rnr se key".
If that's the case, there is a growing problem with the way SIP Sorcery logs
into GV to place a call. It seems Google is freaking out when it detects that
you are logging in from a new location and wants to verify.
If you are a paid subscriber at SIP Sorcery, Aaron, who runs SS, is willing to
log into Google on your behalf from his servers to reassure Google that the
login is authorized by you. If that is the error you are receiving, and you are
unwilling to pay for an SS account, then you, like me can wait it out. If you
read other issues here, both open and closed as well as the SIP Sorcery forums,
you will find nearly as many solutions for this problem as there are people who
have experienced it. The solutions range from waiting a few minutes to creating
an entirely new Google Voice account. And even then, not everything works.
I also cannot dial, and I am using GV on an old cellphone that I've turned into
a wifi phone. I leave my SIP client logged into SIP Sorcery, but I dial by
going to the GV web site on the phone's browser and either choosing a contact
to call or entering a phone number and pressing Call. My phone rings, I answer
it, and my outbound call completes just fine.
First, let's see what your actual error message is, though. If it is not _rnr
se key, then we will start fresh and take it from there. If it is, then it is
not a problem with the script, and unless it resolves itself, you should get
used to dialing via the GV web site.
Changing report type to "Other" because this type of problem has never been
related to the script before -- only the SIP Sorcery host software.

Alright, I followed the steps to detect the problem, and yes im getting the
error "Could not find _rnr_se key" as you described at the beginning. Right
now im on a free sip sorcery account, but as you explained, it seems ill
have to pay for the whole year in order for it to function but only if you
are sure thats the only way to get it to function, I live abroad and have
to constantly call the US or recieve calls from the US either on 3g or
wifi. To give you a little background on the matter, I used this
GV+sipgate+sipsorcery integration before on my nexus one and my nexus s and
it just stopped working.
Thank you for your quick response!.

On another note, there is a recipe on the SS website
http://www.sipsorcery.com/mainsite/Help/GoogleVoice - it seems that after all
the usual setup which used to work in the past, there is a new step which is to
ADD another provider SIP provider, or an only sipprovider where you put your GV
account info and number for call backs, but I have no idea how it works, or
even if it works. But you cant add 2 service providers unless you pay

Thank you for the follow up, Rafael. I didn't mean to imply that paying for SIP
Sorcery is a guaranteed way to fix the issue. Having Aaron sign into your Gmail
from his servers *seems* to be a fairly reliable way to solve this.
I tried to imply that the quickest way to solve this for free is to start
dialing from the GV website, although if you live abroad, then perhaps Google
won't let you login at all. I, too, checked out the recipe, but is seems Aaron
is being intentionally vague about what to do next.
What I may do is delete sipgate from my provider list, sign up again at IPKall
and configure them to forward to SS, and then try this new prescribed approach.
That is one way you can do it with just one SIP provider. Of course, if the
website login is the same behind the scenes, this will most likely fix nothing.
Might be worth a try.

Quick update. I tried it. Still doesn't work, as expected. Still getting the
_rnr_se key error when using the new GV recipe.

Thanks for the update. I think what you're seeing is an unfortunate coincidence
of you finally getting bit by the _rnr_se key bug that plagues SIP Sorcery at
the same time that you changed to Android 4. They may appear related, but they
have nothing to do with each other. If you're not looking for the advanced
capabilities that a SIP Sorcery account offers (when it works), I suggest you
try the automatic setup feature built into the sipdroid client. It will create
and configure an account for you at pbxes.com. I have the _rnr_se key issue at
SIP Sorcery but the sipdroid/pbxes automatic configuration worked the first
time and every time.
If you insist on using the native SIP client built into Android 4, you can
always delete sipdroid after you set up your pbxes account. Please see this
wiki page for more details

Please see issue 135 for a solution to rnr se key that has worked for multiple
users and multiple SS accounts.

Closing. Issue appears to have been related to the _rnr_se key issue, which has
a reliable solution now. Marked Invalid only because it does not appear to have
been related to any of our scripts -- purely a Google security issue.
