Some comments from Wim:

Basemap currently must be disabled, otherwise the color is too dark to be useful.
The difference in color between a TMA and a CTR is not very well visible on a Garmin GPSMAP device. The color for the CTR needs to be more dark.
Maybe the option 'transparant' must be disabled, which might make the colors more bright...

Wim, with QLandkarte GT you should be able to make a screenshot of the screen of your Garmin device. Can you provide me a screenshot so that I get a clear picture of the problem? We have to make sure we're talking about the same 'problem' here... maybe things look differently on your GPS than on mine...
