Conflict in airspace naming/numbering #61

Open SkipAir opened 12 years ago

SkipAir commented 12 years ago

There seems to be a conflict in the naming/numbering of airspace zones: both Belgocontrol and SIA have a zone called "Luxembourg TMA 5" which seems to be different.

We need to check how the software will handle this.

BartVandewoestyne commented 12 years ago

I don't see any problem with this. Both zones should get shown on the maps, both with the same name 'Luxembourg TMA 5'. For the rest, I cannot imagine any conflict or problem. If this is OK with you, please close this issue.

There are 3 things to consider about this naming:

  1. I think the double name is strange in a European Single Sky context ...
=> we should investigate further if there is an error in one of the AIPs
  2. our software needs to deal with this => you confirmed this is OK, so this part is closed
  3. for the Compeo+ the naming needs to be unique => we need to discuss the compatibility with the Compeo+ in a seperate discussion later

For the time being, I leave it open, because of point 1.

As for oaconvert, we can consider this a closed issue. I've assigned it to you and suggest you leave it open until you have further investigated point 1. Point 3 is not our concern and looks to me like a design problem from the Compeo+ software crew. If necessary, you can temporarily work around this problem by giving the second airspace a slightly different name (e.g. by adding another character or so).
