Request Gamertags From Users For Tournament Play

We don't have a permanent system in place that asks for Gamertags, which makes it extremely difficult for players to find eachother to play (xbox, ps4, etc). We need to make gamertags clearly visible on team pages and user profile pages.

Note: - We currently set up a temporary fix for this problem and are asking for Xbox Live Gamertags to be submitted on user profile creation.

Where should we require users to submit their gamertag information?

• User profile creation Not all users will have an Xbox and not all users will compete in tournaments.
• Team Creation and Team Join What if a user didn't create a team and wants to join a preexisting one?
• Joining a Tournament May be a convoluted approach since we already require users to create teams before joining a tournament. Creating another barrier to entry may be overwhelming.

EDIT:(2/12/18) I think that users themselves should always enter in their user info. Having the capt write this down on their behalf might be burdensome. I thought this through and believe that the best way for users to link or associate their gamertags is when creating or joining a team.

• When users wish to join a team or create a new team they are required to submit their gamertag. Users must associate their team with at least one gamertag.

One potential solution would be giving the team captain the ability to set team members' gamer tags (probably only let them do this if it's empty to prevent them from changing it for some reason), and then blocking the team members from being selected when joining a tournament until the gamer tags have been set
