During a "Duo duel" mission after destroying the first mech (Phoenix Hawk LAM, PHX-HK2) the other (WASP LAM, WSP-100A) was sitting in a burning forest. My Hatchetman was close to it, so I tried to go melee it. No matter how many times I tried to target the Wasp for a melee attack the game instead told me I'd be walking next to it, without the melee dialog. Eventually I tried to just stand and shoot and my turn was instead passed on the Hatchetman. Annoyed, I tried moving my Firestarter closer and instead it moved and immediately finished my turn, without any chance to fire, giving the Wasp a free turn of shooting at my Hatchetman's immobile back.
After the Wasp's free turn, everything worked normally again and the Hatchetman finished the fight with a melee attack.
I've seen something similar happen on Baradul's Roguetech youtube series once or twice, although I think for him it only happened randomly for one mech, rather than entire turn getting wasted
