initially, you can't type spaces in a species epithet
if you type *, the text × (space-multiplication sign-space) is inserted and the above limitation is released
the × is not italicized, while the rest will be
in case you need non italicized text in your formula, we can talk about it, but you first tell me if you ever use infraspecific information after a hybrid formula.
