possible contact for funding #271

@mfrasca

It is possible data from gardens using Bauble could be of interest to the GBIF contact node/institution for countries actively participating in GBIF (http://www.gbif.org/participation/participant-list) Each country with a GBIF membership has a national contact person. Eg for Peru it is Maria Luisa del Rio and temporary "head of delegation"- Roxana Solis (Lima). See their contact details (http://www.gbif.org/country/PE/participation#contact475).

GBIF Peru/Colombia/Chile etc may be interested in local data from Botanic Gardens, providing it can be supplied in acceptable format. They may prefer simple CSV format, or XML following Darwin Core or ABCD (https://github.com/tdwg/dwc, https://github.com/tdwg/abcd).

It is possible an organization like a botanic garden could become an endorsed data publisher, but if the garden data set is comparatively small, they may prefer the data to be submitted via a larger data provider. You can see here the data held for Peru: http://www.gbif.org/country/PE/summary.

I am not sure what funding is possible, but it would be worth asking these people.

interesting page, and providing statistics about national activity and activity regarding the nation. confirms numerically my personal impression that Peru is not particularly active. Limiting to Southern America it should be Colombia, Argentina or Brazil.
