We can incrementally work on different options:

[x] make a minimal precomputed dzi tile server via a celery job that we trigger manually from the flask commandline. This can use openslide or tiffslide
[ ] use an aws lambda based tileserver as in https://github.com/bayer-science-for-a-better-life/tiffslide/issues/9
[ ] try depending on https://gitlab.com/empaia/services/wsi-service/-/tree/main (could save some work and we could contribute a tiffslide based viewer back, which would be nice)

We're serving via tiffslide directly through the backend flask nodes.

Let's keep this issue open and lower the priority.
