On bcfg2 1.4.0-pre2 I can only disable the dependency resolution of the Packages plugin by setting resolver or metadata in bcfg2.conf to disabled. Setting it to 0 or False does not work. According to the documentation, it should.
I understand that there is specific code to deal with disabled and enabled (https://github.com/Bcfg2/bcfg2/blob/v1.4.0pre2/src/lib/Bcfg2/Server/Plugins/Packages/__init__.py#L20) but it seems to break 0/1 and True/False.
Full disclosure: I'm using the bcfg2-server package in version 1.4.0~pre2+git141-g6d40dace6358-1 from the Debian repositories.
While I'm cleaning up my open Github issues, let's close this. Bcfg2 is obviously unmaintained.
