What sort of tasks would you build on this? I might be able to do this for my information retrieval class.

I was thinking things like keyword analysis, list of named entities, list of relevant scientific terms (genomes, languages, etc), perhaps an automatically generated summary. Make sense? Anything we can use to help the reader.
