Fatal error when missing custom tlk table file #679

Describe the crash

  1. Start the game.
  2. Go to multiplayer, connect online.
  3. Connect to a server that uses NWSync but is missing its TLK file from the downloads. In my case I used "PRC Skullkeep [PRC8-CEP2]".
  4. Once the NWSync content downloads and I've reconnected (or if it was already downloaded), the game crashes at character selection with the dialog titled "NWN:EE has encountered a fatal error and cannot continue." The message in the dialog says to report here.

If I drop the required TLK file in the tlk folder, the crash does not occur.

Attached is the crash report with the extension changed from nwcrash to txt so Github will let me upload it.

Custom content or overrides used

I've cleared out my override and patch folders, as well as unsubscribing from workshop items in Steam. The error still happens.
