it's time to move on and get a more decent kernel.
3.18 is the stable version as of now, but let's go ahead with 3.19.2.

I'm getting this exact same problem, and this is the only place I can find info 
about it. I'm new to Pentoo, and need help.

How do I apply the above change? (K_GENPATCHES_VER="12")
