Over a long enough period of time and enough skirmishes/hits against the holopara, the flavor behavior "Coughs up blood" empties your blood and kills from blood loss.
According to Absolucy, this is unintended behavior, as it was meant to be a cosmetic effect only.
What did you expect?
I expected to not die of bloodloss from having a defence S holopara who by design is meant to tank hits more than I do.
This makes tank builds where you send your holopara to take damage for you effectively terrible, even if you pick a healing holopara - they are unable to fix bloodloss and will have to spend their time healing you, making it impossible for them to be useful in accomplishing their intended purpose.
Reproducible steps
Get Holopara with max defense & means to heal yourself of brute damage.
Shoot holopara with different weapons, especially multihit ones
