Security radio that lets you make automated radio calls. #10732

Would be nice to be able to have a security item that lets you make automated radio calls from a radial menu.

I could have sworn we had a PR not too long ago that added just such a feature to security gas masks, but I can't find it. As I remember, it got closed because it could blurt out you needed help at X location in one click and people thought that was too good. I could see a less potent version being good, especially if it combined radio callouts and in person commands.

I want it so that rather than having calls for your location, they are more general calls such as responding and the time it will take for you to reach that location. I'm not against security being able to call out their location quickly, but I'd rather have more options and them have to choose the location than have their location automatically spoken.

I imagine what the intent you had is something like this, you select a broad thing from a radial then specify with a second.

That way it's not instant, and isn't "I need help in X Coordinate: 53, Y Coordinate: 21 I have taken forty damage perpetrator is using an energy sword" or anything busted.

How do you think this as an implant? A kind of security version of tracking immplant.

PowerfulBacon commented 8 months ago

I was thinking of a uniform/armour vest attachment. I don't like the idea of default expensive implants at roundstart, and it could be interesting if it was removable/stealable.

This actually already exists on the other bee server called NSV. It uses the mask to make radio calls 100-500 and calls out the location in security channel automatically. It's a weekend server, so you can't really just pop there right now though.

Automatic location callout seems too good, that should still be a manual thing.
