You can apply rich text formatting by manually adding the following HTML-like
tags to fields in your Zotero library:
and for italics
and for bold
and for subscript
and for superscript
and for smallcaps
Zotero will automatically replace these tags by the specified formatting in bibliographic output. E.g. ”Pseudomonas aureofaciens nov. spec. and its pigments” will become ”Pseudomonas aureofaciens nov. spec. and its pigments”.
support these formats, so users can specify that a certain part of e.g. their title is e.g. always bold, independent from the citation style. http://www.zotero.org/support/kb/rich_text_bibliography
Ideally, also formatting from LaTeX is supported, see here http://www.docear.org/support/forums/docear-support-forums-group3/bug-reports-forum6/docear4word-v1-01-problem-with-italic-font-thread212/
