Following this earlier question (I guess developers don't read the general forum as

:could there be any detectable performance gain in moving RT cache to a secondary fast
disk (SSD),and if so,would this be worth adding a GUI option in the preference panel?

Just try it. On Windows set the env-var RT_CACHE to a folder on that disk and try.

I don't remember why i've done this for Windows only, but it should be easily portable
to Linux/ Apple too...
