This video illustrates a very capable technique for sharpening of noisy images without
altering noise appearance:

I imagine that in RT this could be very welcome!
UI vision - 4 sliders only:
Strength, 
Detail radius, 
Sharpening Amount
Denoising Amount

The technique steps are:
Highpass, luminance denoise, sharpen edges, linear light blend, change opacity.
