PTP-mounted Android phone inaccessible #5399

BlackLotus commented 5 years ago

Software: RawTherapee, version 5.6 ArchLinux 5.2.5-arch1-1-ARCH Hardware: Android - OnePlus 5, OnePlus 3 I can mount PTP (gphoto) and mtp with the gvfs backends and other implementations (digikam works as well).

When entering the file browser and connecting an android phone a Android entry appears. Clicking on this entry spawns another entry called "mtp" (even when using ptp) and mounts the device with the gvfs driver (in my case under /run/user/1000/gvfs). Clicking on the mtp entry however doesn't do anything. It should however open the directory tree to the desired location (/run/user/1000/gvfs).

Also of note: When creating a favourite entry of the device no entry is shown. Checking the config I can see that it created quite a few entries for it

RecentFolders=/run/user/1000/gvfs/mtp:host=OnePlus_OnePlus_a6ca537/Interner gemeinsamer Speicher/DCIM;/run/user/1000/gvfs/mtp:host=OnePlus_OnePlus_a6ca537;/run/user/1000/gvfs;/run/user/1000/gvfs/mtp:host=OnePlus_OnePlus_a6ca537/Interner gemeinsamer Speicher

but the gui doesn't show any entry (no entry that is of or below the mtp device at least every other entry is shown)

@BlackLotus

  1. One should use MTP instead of PTP if MTP is available. Try mounting as MTP - does it work correctly?
  2. Have you tried other GTK3 software - which, and did PTP and MTP work?

Hi,

Same problem here (x86_64 Linux 5.3.6-1-MANJARO / RawTherapee 5.7), but with any gvfs mount (sftp, smb, afp…).

In GUI, I can navigate directly through /run/user/1000/gvfs/ but can't open any sub-directory with picture in it. I also can't add favourites (or they're not visible, according to @BlackLotus).
