RT-git loses sidecars and all edits #6439

Often times, I will edit a few photos, close down the program and upon opening it again, the last edited photo will lose all edits. No sidecar file to be found. Photo is restored to original/neutral state.

This is still an issue almost two years later. If I close RT without switching off of my last-edited image, while still in editor view, on next open of the program, said image will have lost all edits and no sidecar file will have been created.

Seeing as no one else has reported this issue, and I cannot reproduce, it is difficult to investigate. Also, the pp3 should be created the moment you open the file. So the fact that there is nothing after you have been editing a while, seems very unlikely. Which editor mode are you using? One editor or multiple editor mode?

Edit: what do you mean two years later? You reported this on 21 March 2022? sorry, my bad, there is also a thread on Pixls

I also can't reproduce it always, but it has happened many, many times over time. I am using the single editor mode.

I have, however, found away to ensure the edits are always saved, and that is once I know I'm done with an editing session, I will open up a new image in the editor, moving off of the last edited image. Doing this I have never lost edits, but I don't always remember to...

I use Manjaro and SETM/VT and have never experienced this.

You can immediately write the PP3 to disk by pressing Ctrl+Shift+s.
