Add support for webp image format when exporting/saving images #6659

Currently RawTherapee gives us a choice of exporting images in either JPEG, TIFF & PNG format, which is great.

I believe it would be a great addition to also add the WebP format to the list as it is more and more in demand on the web.

More info on the format itself on Wikipedia : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WebP

What do you guys think? Would save some of us a trip to another converter after the fact.

Thanks.

Interested too. Apparently, AVIF and JPEG XL would also be interesting : https://linuxfr.org/news/des-formats-d-image

100% agree. I often use a script to generate images. I added the webp option using imagemagick, but it would be great to have it as part of RT.

I have a lot of TIFF scans and I was happy to find webp lossless format, it can reduce file size by 80%! But still RawTherapee doesnt support it, that's sad. Absolutely great format. Would be cool to include support for webp
