When my character dies and is buried, his backpack is not staying with is corpse.
The backpack in question is: Big Backpack. Item ID 4258 with metadata for the color.
I have not tried it with the regular backpack yet.
I am going to try just carrying the pack in my inventory to see if the same happens next time I die.
You can lose a LOT of valuable stuff that way, so this is a pretty big deal.
