The sdk_update doesn't show progress when downloading files

Toolchain variant (e.g. "newlib" or "glibc"): Default

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Follow the steps here:

2. When files are downloaded - it takes a long time and the user doesn't have 
any progress report.

What is the expected output?
Output of the size of the file then the progress of the download - preferably 
in percentage. 

What do you see instead?
I wait a long time without any clue what is going on.

Please provide any additional information below.
Attached is a version of the sdk_update.py that does show the file size and an 
update of percentage of the file that have already been download.
