Using GPG for instance.

Does not somehow Signal support this feature?

Silence works like any other SMS application. There\'s nothing to sign up for and no new service your friends need to join.

A fork of Signal with only SMS/MMS encryption.

To some extent Signal supports SMS, no?

It may be interesting to regularly verify that still receive SMS/MMS and not leaking that it is just a test would be interesting. Especially if do not warn other person to answer very formally to avoid leaking informations on such a not E2EE channel.

I have in mind Benjamin-Loison/android/issues/46 and the SMS I received on 15/08/24 at 11:50.
