Cannot shutdown when automatic updates are in progress #34

sudo shutdown now

seems to be a workaround. However, is it safe?

What workaround when do not have root access?

Can we disable automatic updates?

Can track progress thanks to:

tail -f /var/log/apt/term.log

Note that there is also /var/log/apt/history.log but it looks less interesting.
