I installed an update yesterday, see #6 and have this issue.
https://www.reddit.com/r/rustdesk/comments/14s0yd2/comment/jqwch1k/ solves my issue. https://github.com/Maisquestce does not exist. Searching Maisquestce in upstream issues does not return anything.
Concerning searching ~/.config/autostart/rustdesk.desktop
in upstream issues it returns:
rustdesk --version
1.3.0
~/.config/autostart/rustdesk.desktop
does not exist on both my Linux Mint 22 Cinnamon Framework 13 and Debian 12 GNOME Pegasus...
Start menu RustDesk entry mentions rustdesk %u
.
ls /usr/share/applications/*rust*
/usr/share/applications/rustdesk.desktop /usr/share/applications/rustdesk-link.desktop
/usr/share/applications/rustdesk.desktop
:

Setting former file StartupNotify
to false
does not solve the issue on reboot. So I reverted this change.
crontab -l | grep -i rust
sudo crontab -l | grep -i rust
does not return anything.
Exit does not work only:
sudo pkill rustdesk
find ~ -type d -name 'autostart' 2> /dev/null
/home/benjamin/.config/autostart
/home/benjamin/Desktop/bens_folder/devices/ll_vps/etc/xdg/autostart
/home/benjamin/Desktop/bens_folder/dev/git/gnome_gitlab/gdm/data/autostart
on Linux Mint 22 Cinnamon Framework 13.
ls ~/.config/autostart/
redshift-gtk.desktop remmina-applet.desktop
No setting in the GUI seems related except maybe Settings > General > Other > Check for software update on startup. However, I doubt this setting is involved as we could believe that once no software update is found it would stop itself. After disabling it and a laptop restart it does not solve the issue.
Should search with DuckDuckGo and Google and upstream issues.
sudo find / -iname '*rustdesk*' -not -path '/home/benjamin/Desktop/*' -not -path '/home/benjamin/.mozilla/*' 2> /dev/null
flatpak list | grep -i rustdesk

Only allow connection if RustDesk window is open does not help.
systemctl status rustdesk | cat

sudo systemctl stop rustdesk
hides the tray icon.
sudo systemctl disable rustdesk
Removed "/etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants/rustdesk.service".
this has a problem if you reinstall/update rustdesk
means that have to proceed again?
