I've done the same on my ps4.
If you are on fw 5.05+ you can plugin in your external HDD in your ps4.
Then configure it as primary storage in the Settings of your ps4.
Any new install requests (nvm where they came from) will be installed on your external HDD now.
I didn't need the App2USB at all for this. I believe that was required for fw lower then 5.xx
@drkui Did you find out how to do that? To save the "install to internal" process. I've been searching for the solution.
If you are on FW 5.05+, you can go to System > Storage > set the external HDD as Primary Storage.
Everything will be installed on the external HDD then.
If I understand correctly what you mean, this should be the solution for it as written before.
I'm new to the PS4 homebrew scene, but I've heard that you can use App2USB to move your installed PKGs to the external HDD. I plan to go with the APPtoUSB route because my external HDD is much bigger than the internal HDD and I wish to still use the external HDD for regular files, which I wouldn't be able to do so with PS4's official formatting method.
So with this program you can remote install a PKG going from PC -> Internal -> External (with ApptoUSB). My question is if you can add functionality to install directly to the external HDD plugged into the PS4.
