Workspace Auto-refresh #649

The auto-refresh functionality is a bit disconcerting at times e.g. you are 
filtering something and see what needs to be done and ... out of the blue the 
pages refresh and you have to begin again ... 

A better way would be to present a "alert" (NOT a message box ... but a 
highlighted box on the page ) to indicate «new items have been added/change 
status please refresh to view them »

The issue description above is obsolete. The issue still stands as to how to 
notify users of new documents in their workspace.

Closing All these issues -- As the list is being updated to match with the 
whiteboard backlog.
